The 2019 CMAA is coming to your home!

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Our 2019 Catholic Ministries Annual Appeal (CMAA) is now underway. Very soon, information about our CMAA will be coming to your home. As the pages unfold, so will the stories about real people, the challenges they have faced and how gifts to the CMAA have given them a sign of hope. You can also hear these personal testimonies in our new video, "Signs of Hope."

The CMAA is vital to the Diocese of Joliet, providing the critical resources needed to support the ministries that care for so many of our friends, neighbors and everyone in the community.

Please support the Catholic Ministries Annual Appeal this year. By becoming a sign of hope, we can work together to do the important work of God’s Church in the Diocese of Joliet.

Children’s Liturgy of the Word at 9:30 AM Masses.

Immaculate Conception offers (CLOW)
Children’s Liturgy of the Word at 9:30 AM Masses.

There will not be CLOW on the Sundays of Religious Education.  Children ages 2 & up are invited to join us.

Please sign-in on the sheet in the entrance way upon your arrival at Mass so we have an idea of how many children to expect that day. Prior to the scripture readings, children are called to come forward to join the CLOW group. The children are taken to the Sacristy where they can hear the Sunday scripture readings at their own level. They return to Church and rejoin their families during the offertory in order to celebrate the Liturgy of the Eucharist. Pflaum Gospel Weeklies will be utilized with the hope that the parents will review the lesson with their child(ren).

We hope you'll consider having your child(ren) join us each week for this wonderful faith formation opportunity!

Religious Education (Family Faith Formation)

The Office of Religious Education directs the Catholic religious instruction of all public school students. Through weekly classes, and other Family Educational and Fellowship events, the children receive instruction and guidance in their Catholic Faith. Immaculate Conception and Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary parishes have united in this program under the direction of Deacon William Dunn.  For a complete description of the program, registration and calendar please click here.

Throughout the year, together, all parish children and their parents attend sacramental preparation meetings, Family Faith Centered gathering and retreats, and celebrate the sacraments of First Reconciliation, First Eucharist and Confirmation as one parish family.

Sacrament of Baptism

Celebrated on the First and Third Sunday of the month after the 9:30 AM Mass.  Parents are required to attend a Baptismal Preparation meeting prior to the Baptism. Please contact the Parish Secretary to register.

Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick

Celebrated First Saturday during the 8:00 AM Mass at Assumption Parish or by appointment. Devotions in Honor of St. Peregrine, the patron Saint of those who suffer with cancer or any incurable disease or condition, are held on the first Tuesday of each month following the 6:30 PM Mass at Assumption Parish.

It is the responsibility of the parish to bury their dead. Funeral liturgies are ordinarily celebrated at 10:00 AM. The funeral director will contact the rectory regarding arrangements.

Sacrament of Marriage

Arrangements must be made at least six months in advance. Marriage Preparation Classes are required to be completed before the Sacrament of Marriage can be celebrated. Please contact the parish office before making any other wedding arrangements.

Sacrament of Reconciliation

Thursdays following the 8:30 AM Mass
Saturdays following the 5:45 PM Mass
